For The Creatives

Day by day, I try to find a balance between creation & stagnation, inspiration & burnout, discipline & surrender, joy & struggle. Some days, I try to grasp the present moment like I’m grasping for air.

I’ve explored what it means to be a “creator” for years, and I’m still not sure. I’ve learned that my best art comes from creating simply out of a love for creation. Fuck the views, the algorithms, the apps. Let’s live a real life, and share that with each other. Maybe it’s artful, maybe it’s just real.

If we all knew each other’s stories, we’d realize how similar we are. We’re all just trying to get by. We’re in this game of survival. We’re in pursuit of love and acceptance. We’re alone in some ways, yet we’re in this together once we allow the invisible walls to crumble down.

I wrote a short prayer this morning:

May we show up and do our best. May we find refuge in our practices. May we find home in our bodies.

May we float until the water stills — and we see the life beneath the surface.

May I devote myself to something higher — because faith is good for my spirit.

May this faith lead me: from untruth to truth, from ignorance to consciousness, from death to immortality.

Peace, peace, peace.
