What is the Purpose of my Practice?

This is a worthwhile question for any Sadhaka (spiritual practitioner) to ask themselves. Put more simply — why do I do the things that I do? Do I practice Yoga for flexibility? Strength? Calmness? Self love? Enlightenment? Back pain?

The purpose behind the path changes the practice. And the purpose behind the practice will change the path. There are always many paths of practice, on and off the Yoga mat. There are paths of Hatha Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Meditation, and many more.

In life, the paths you can choose to walk are quite endless. Choosing a path is a practice within itself. And the first question to ask oneself remains: What is my purpose?
