Guatemala Retreat Recap

This retreat was beautiful to witness and an honor to host. 23 people came together as their true selves to share compassion, truth, vulnerability, and so many laughs. This retreat proved to me the value of joy in our healing. Suffering ebbs and flows, but joy always has the potential to be present. It’s often veiled, waiting for the help of others to uncover it. Laughter rarely happens alone; the medicine is in community.

We practiced together. We meditated together. We danced, honored the land, ritualized life, cold plunged, journaled (a lot), played in the field, ate nourishing foods, and learned how to hold and be held. We climbed many stairs and built some strong asses in the process.

This retreat was a reminder of what is true, what is pure, and what is in harmony with nature. The patterns of nature hold the wisdom of the universe — being human is learning to flow with them. When we remember that our lives don’t exist in a bubble, the aperture widens, the perspective shifts, the lotus flower blooms, and suddenly there is so much more to see.

The jewel is in the lotus. The spirit is in our hearts. The peace is in our minds. The action is in our limbs. The kind words are on our lips. The glimmer is in our eyes. The earth pulses beneath our feet.

In a divided world, we need clear reminders of the connection that’s always here, waiting to be felt. I’m more inspired than ever to continue this work — to study, learn, teach, practice, and create immersive experiences rooted in the sacredness of life.

Thank you to this group for trusting me, and thank you to our incredible teaching team for sharing your gifts.
